Enthusiasm!
I found out - thanks to the Weekend FT - that all new employees at Ferrari are given a card. On this it says (among other things), that "The real secret of success is enthusiasm. You can do anything if you have enthusiasm. With it, there is accomplishment. Without it there are only alibis".
Wonderful stuff!
One of my measures of success of a television presenter is enthusiasm. Can they communicate it? If not, they've failed - however knowledgeable they are.
